Check Out Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner

Eric Ramsey

Spring is blowing by here in Tampa, but we haven’t forgotten about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Spring’s contest winner is Tonya S., who submitted some photos of her new shutters that really show off some great design choices.

white shutters in dining room

Tonya’s home features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Since the shutters are shut, you can really get a glimpse of how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Envision that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be the perfect setting for an intimate candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your home, you can express the mood you want no matter the time of day.

Also worth mentioning is how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors as well as the white ceiling. Those neutral accents let the black wood furniture and the wood floor’s natural color shine even more.

She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. She also sent in a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter!

wood barn door shutter

There are a number of reasons we love this barn door shutter. The first reason is that it looks fantastic. The homespun aesthetic of the wood panel with that modern black frame above give an enduring yet comfortable look. What we like even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. Her barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still allowing the window to easily open and shut.

Because the shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. As an example, if she wanted to set some plants on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter so it can soak up some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.

According to Tonya this is the third time she’s had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for continuing to choose us for all her shutter and window treatment needs. For being selected as our Share Your Shutters winner this time, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a local restaurant.

If you think your shutters should be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or post a photo on our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Floridian next go around!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your space is missing something, we’d love to help. Call 813-580-7288 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Tampa’s window design experts to begin.
